Seasonal and custom Welcome screens are easy!
Two important attributes needed for a refreshing reception area is uniqueness and individuality. With Zap In 2, we give you the ability to fully customize the welcome screen to suit the style and tone of your business. Whether it’s professional, modern, laid-back or artistic, the welcome screen slideshow and font characteristics can be used to create a mood or vibe from within your reception area. If the main lobby in your office is bland, give it some flavor by adding a theme to your Zap In app.
Change up the look for every spirited holiday.
Get the graphics ready for Christmas, Easter, Valentines day, and don't forget Halloween!
Once your pic or graphic files are ready, adding them is easy. We list the steps to do so below.
To change the font on the welcome screen:
Head over to your web based dashboard and select the corresponding building connected to the iPad.
In WORKBENCH, click “Welcome Screen” (located under configure).
Select the FONT box and choose a new font (you can preview the font by writing test words in the space above).
Select the FONT COLOR box and choose a new color.
Click the green save button to update your changes and see the results on your iPad screen!
To create a picture slideshow that plays on the welcome screen:
Head over to your web based dashboard and select the corresponding building connected to the iPad.
In WORKBENCH, click “Welcome Screen” (located under configure).
Click the black plus sign located under SLIDESHOW.
Select a picture and/or photo from your computer and click open. (NOTE: To ensure the best resolution, the image must be displayed at 1024 x 768 and at 72 dots per inch. An iPad with a retina display should have the image displayed at 2048 x 1536 and at 72 dots per inch.)
Add multiple pictures to create a slideshow by repeating step 4.
Click the green save button to update your changes and see the results on your iPad screen!
Follow these steps and Voila! Your automated reception area is now created to demonstrate creativity and flair. Some companies use the welcome screen to display a company logo, graphs or diagrams, nature photographs and holiday/themed illustrations.

Here are some examples of what we use at our Zap In office in Waterloo, Ontario.
Notes: 1. You may have to manually adjust the aspect ratio of your image. For Windows, a simple way to do this is to open the image in MS PAINT and resize by pixels. Ensure the “maintain aspect ratio” box is unchecked when resizing.
2. If the slideshow doesn’t immediately appear on your iPad, refresh the welcome screen by enabling and then disabling “allow dashboard access from app”. You can find this option in your web based dashboard under workbench.
